Memories beget memories

Timm (then Timmy) burrowed into a snow-fort dug in the aftermath of the Great Snow in February 1967, the same year which sets my Christmas Reverie.

Talking with brother Will on Christmas Day, he said that after seeing the "Christmas Reverie" posts he recalled some pictures stashed up in the attic from the time, mostly taken with a Polaroid camera he'd gotten for Christmas somewhere back then. He'd fished them out and with a newly-aquired scanner created digital versions which he then emailed me. Thanks bro! He also said that he's been taking loads of pictures with the camera he inherited after Timm's death - taking pictures his way of remembering Timm. So I hope he shares some here.

That's family friend Rusty Barefield, holding court outside his convertible sports car. Will has claimed his spot and looks, rather disdainfully, at Molly and her gaggle of friends who are using their feminine wiles to get a ride.

In the summer of '67 we also vacationed in Colorado. Will must have taken this shot of the rest of us outside the cabin we stayed in for one of the two weeks we were out there. I think it's my birthday - Number 10 -- in front of us on the table is the cake Mom baked, which failed to rise due to the altitude.

The other week we spent in Colorado that summer of '67 was at a dude ranch with all of the amenities.
