Timm's last pictures

These are the last known photos Timm took, on Saturday, April 12, in a park somewhere in Salem (I presume).

I've run some of these pictures before, but I wanted to post the entire set, or at least the images most representative of the shoot (for Timm often took multiple shots of the same scene, choosing just one for later use).

The day looks heartbreakingly clear, Salem enjoying a spate of fine early spring weather that had surprised everyone and drew them, abundantly, out to the park. (By the time I landed in Salem on the night of April 18, cold, wet, wintry weather had returned.)

The pleasure in the day is so clear in these photos --- kids at play, parents watching on, trees in bloom, skies sunny and blue, dogs romping with tongues a-loll.

I don't know if Timm was taking the pictures for a working gig or simply for enjoyment; whether he was alone or with Christie (since they usually spent weekends together).

The back story is missing, but we do know that five days after these photos were taken, Timm was gone.

No one except the most selfish can choose the hour of their passing, but if one could, there could be no better farewell note than these images of hope and joy. Timm's heart was full indeed.

Note Timm's shadow in these next few shots.
