He gave as much in death as in life

After Timm's death, his body was donated to medicine. It was put to good use. Corneal transplants provided two blind individuals with a chance to regain their sight. Tissues and organs from Timm's body went to more than 60 recipients.

So in short, out of our great loss there was yet much good. Even in death, Timm kept giving.

If you haven't completed a living will yet -- expressing your wishes to donate your body after death to medicine like Timm -- his story should prove motivational.

Dad sent the following on the same day he sent his birthday greeting Timm, posted last week. I add it here.

Keeping Watch With New Eyes

Thanks for the gift of New Eyes

Seeing is believing in the grandeur of creation

And breathing in its Spirit with awe, wonder and gratitude

From all of us who have been left behind

again thanks

Dad, Mother, Will, David and Molly
