When we were growing up in Evanston, IL, in winter our side yard transformed into a sledding hill for the entire neighborhood. In this picture, Timm is on the saucer, beginning the next hilarious rappel down an icy slope that was yet right-sized for kids. Something about the picture makes me think of Timm the adventurer heading out, again and again and again, to find something new in the world.
The following batch of pictures are from the first 1,000 scans of slides Timm had boxed away in his apartment. (I thank Wade Boggs, my father-in-law, for taking on the enormous labor of scanning them in.) More wow-shots here, eye candy: what Timm found out there as he careened on down the next slope.
