Another, somewhat later sequence of photos from Timm's early years. The hair is straighter, the grin remains but there is more intensity to Timm's activities captured here, a loyalty to play which Timm never lost. In the photo above, Timm makes a show of raking leaves, though we know it was only in anticipation of jumping pell-mell into some big pile of autumn leavings.

Timm on the rope-swing in the back yard of our Evanston house. Another activity he never seemed to tire of.

I'm guessing that Timm is preparing to leave for a first day of nursery school or kindergarten. In so many of these pictures, Timm is with sister Molly. My wife
Beth and Molly's daughter Mary Beth all have the same look as this, descended, we think, from Dad's mother Nana.

A family outing which looks like it has frayed somewhat. Mother's smile looks forced, Will and I look like we've been at it, Timm looks like he's been crying too. Only Molly looks genuinely chipper.
Dad with Timm at a Memorial Day parade. We lived a block away from the street where the parade always went (Davis Ave., I think), so we always got a great position in the sidelines.
