Memory cards

Attendees at Timm's memorial service on April 21 were invited to write down a remembrance of Timm on a slip of paper. Sister Molly has completed inputting them, and we share a number of them today. (More to come.)

I got to know Timm when he was attending a single's group at Salem Alliance about 8 or 9 years ago. Boy did we all have some fun times:
  • A bunch of us sitting in the back end of his pickup on an old mattress at the drive-in in Dallas. We all had a candy-throwing "fight" and I remember finding Junior Mints stuck all over my jeans and tennis shoes!
  • We also had a "disco" party at his "loft" in Silverton. What a hoot!
What a talent! I gave his photo calendar to my family as gifts one Christmas. I still have copies of some of his work. So many people - including me- loved him and were impacted by his life! -- Natalie Barnes

Timm really cared about people. He was a man of passion and vision. He was a servant. It was a pleasure to work alongside him. He will be missed. -- Tammy Chatfield

Timm was a beautiful man with passion for everything beautiful around him. His love of everything beautiful could be seen in the wonderful calendar he put together of scenes around Oregon. I wish I would have taken the time to get to know him better. Life can be short, we must be prepared. - Anonymous

Such a journey life is ... It is with tremendous love and especially fond and beautiful memories (I have of Timm) ... Of music, hiking; (of) gathering for our wedding + Will's wedding, our garden, and so much more. - Thank you for your warm embrace so long ago. I know Timm is playing music with complete freedom and abandon in the presence of our King. - Much love, Mikki

Timm was full of enthusiasm and integrity. He was on an outreach
planning committee with me, and I was just getting to know him. The little I got to know him, I was touched by his spirit. I am grieving the loss of not having more time to know him. Tim was an inspiration to my recovery. He brought encouragement and hope. Tim's spirit has been filled with God's wisdom, which I had the pleasure of hearing as he shared. I was part of a Men's Group with Timm. His love of life was part of each of our discussions. He was into photography and I asked him many questions around that. He always had a smile and a handshake of encouragement. He will be missed. -- Bob K.

You must feel so thankful and proud to have such a son and brother who loved and lived so full a life in his short 45 years. Tim was a great help to us in spiritual growth as we were his shepherding pastor for a time. His quite response and insight started me on a journey to more fully experience God and his Holy Spirit. He also was great help to our son who struggled with substance abuse. God Bless you! -- Jim and Paula Newman

We enjoyed visiting with Timm during the holidays. He always had a smile to warm our hearts with. He went to track meet with us and always had a good word for our children. -- Donna Robinson

Timm O was a great friend who would take time to acknowledge you even when
he was busy behind the camera. His scenic calendar one year inspired me to make one of my own. I gave away about a dozen of his calendars - shared the beauty that he saw. -- Pete Jossi, Salem Alliance Church

Tim was an amazing guitar player. He was so fun to have when he'd play on our worship team at Trinity Covenant Church. He had so much energy! I've never seen somebody so excited by arranging a worship song. It was evident how much he loved music!! I will miss his enthusiasm! - Anonymous

Sorrow and joy to you in the passing of Timm. My prayers are with you. I knew Timm casually for years - he often photographed my family beginning when he shot for Gazette when my kids attended Kennedy High in Mt. Angel, OR. I later worked with Timm at "Our Town" where he did freelance photography for custom publications and represented.

Timm leaves a
wonderful legacy resulting from his passion, compassion and his awesome ability to find beauty in things taken for granted by most. Long has Timm taken snapshots of paradise here on earth always mindful that paradise was not something given, but sought! May his soul be glorified eternally. -- Don Robinson, Mt. Angel

I was always impressed with Timm's patience, his soft-spoken way of communicating and letting me know with his kind eyes that he was listening. Timm was a great person who gave so many people hope as a Social Security and Medicare case worker. I know he will be missed greatly. -- Meagan Mansfield

Timm was always a great listener and at work he would come into my part of the office and talk with me about my career goals. Mainly, he would listen and offer non-judgmental advice. Timm, Ted, and I were the male trio in the office and we would frequently talk about outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, and biking. He was always fun, calm, and kind. -- Friend and co-worker, Travis Brossard

  1. I knew Timm back when I was in a Singles Group called GAP at Salem Alliance Church in 2002. We started going about the same time, and Timm was a wonderful person to be around. He was friendly, funny, and I knew he loved God.

We had a Disco/70's party at his loft in Silverton, and to see all his amazing photography was a special gift--he was so talented and I so badly wanted him to photo shoot my daughter Lillie. I wish I would've had him do so...

I lost touch with my GAP friends, but I saw Timm at a Harry Potter Party at Border's in 2005, and I was so surprised--not only did I get to see an old friend, but another Harry fan at that. Timm was always so nice and friendly, and the first thing he asked me was how my little girl was doing.

Timm was so helpful to us with our SS needs and issues while he worked with Darlene Hooley's office. We will never forget all of the time and effort he gave us, listening to our frustrations and making sure what needed to be done was accomplished. Thank you Timm for helping our family!

I also remember that when our GAP group went on a retreat to the mountains, and Timm played guitar and sang with us. He had a beautiful voice, and yet another gift from God to share. We had such a crazy time singing songs and playing music games. I will never forget that weekend!

I just now found out today about Timm's passing. All of his family and friends are in our prayers, and I know he is greatly missed. Please know that he left a small imprint on my families lives and we will forever be thankful.
